Addiction

In the early eighties my Mum bought be a Puch Magnum. From that day onwards I became hooked on BMX. The Puch was a very heavy bike and when money allowed I was upgraded to a Diamond Back Pacer 500 which became by dream machine. Araya 7X tear drops and a very light frame saw me hopping over walls and learning how to ride ramps.

In the early nineties I swapped BMX for clubbing and immersed myself in the ‘club scene’. Time ticked on and a stint on a friend’s Piston Bully in the LSD crazed mid nineties reminded me what I was missing. I had sold my Pacer 500 to fund a night at The Palais in Sheffield.

Wind on to 2012 and I decided to build the bike I always dreamt of owning, a GT Pro Performer. Swapping one passion for another, I am now officially addicted to old school BMX. My four ‘babies’ are shown here.

My vision for this site is to share my passion with you, and eventually allow you a place to buy, sell and trade parts with each other. With the Museum, RAD, Facebook and eBay all firmly in place, this is not a profit making scheme, it’ about giving a platform to fellow enthusiasts.

I have met some amazing people on this journey (Finny, Chris Hunter Dubber, Chip (C4), Super Bike Dan, Sawzall, Nick Swannick and GT guru Costa) as well as some ‘robbing b**stards’ *(who took advantage of my newbie status). Not sure how the site will pan out just yet, but for now I hope you can enjoy the images courtesy of Samantha Avena at Scandango.
